Will Diablo 4 be coming to Steam Deck? Yes and No.
With Diablo 4 hitting store shelves and digital storefronts on June 6th 2023 it's only natural to ask the question - "Will Diablo 4 work on Valves Steam Deck?"
With Microsoft in the middle of a very messy acquisition of Activision Blizzard it’s no secret that Microsoft wants their titles on as many systems as possible! But alas as it stands, the only way to play many of Blizzards titles on PC or Steam Deck in this case (like Starcraft, World of Warcraft and indeed Diablo) is to buy and play them via the Battle.net launcher. They are not currently available on Steam like their Activision siblings.
And those savvy among you will realise that the Battle.net launcher doesn’t currently run on Valves Linux based SteamOS.
As it stands, there is no definitive answer right now as to whether Blizzard will break this trend to go ahead and release the latest Diablo title on Steam for all to play on SteamOS, let’s be honest it would make sense!
But if that answer doesn’t satisfy your curiosity then let me give you some good news.
Regardless of their decision to release the game on Steam YOU WILL be able to run the game on Steam Deck. And you can do so by dual-booting Windows alongside SteamOS on your Steam Deck!
